The co-CEOs and co-founders of the MAP Group, José Rui Meneses e Castro and Diogo Abecasis, were featured in a recent article in idealista/news, where they shared their views on the challenges and opportunities that will characterise the construction sector in 2025.

With the growing demand for housing and the urgent need to renovate buildings, the co-CEOs of the MAP Group identified the main challenges facing the sector:

  • Skills shortages, a structural obstacle that limits companies’ responsiveness and productivity.
  • Regulatory complexity, which has a direct impact on construction times and budgets.
  • Pressure on construction costs, exacerbated by rising raw material and energy prices.

As a solution, leaders stress the importance of investing in innovation and sustainability, promoting methods such as modular construction and the use of more efficient technologies to reduce delivery times and costs.

They also call for the simplification of administrative procedures and the implementation of public policies that promote affordable and sustainable housing. These measures, they argue, are essential to overcoming the challenges facing the sector and creating the conditions for balanced and sustainable growth.

As leaders of a group that includes six companies specialising in construction, rehabilitation and property management, José Rui Meneses e Castro and Diogo Abecasis reinforce the MAP Group’s commitment to leading with vision and contributing to the transformation and modernisation of the sector.
