The comprehensive rehabilitation of a historic residence in Ajuda was an ambitious project aimed not only at modernizing the structure but also at honoring and preserving the rich heritage of the property. Despite the complexity of the structural intervention, the restoration team demonstrated careful attention to detail, ensuring that various elements of historical value were preserved and restored. Among these, the bust of Vasco da Gama stands out, adorning the top of the main façade and symbolizing the cultural and historical significance of the residence. Inside the building, the crosses of Santo André, with their rich iconography, were meticulously restored, adding a touch of authenticity and tradition to the renovated environment.
In addition to structural improvements, the project also included the creation of new outdoor areas that enhance the experience for residents. A suspended seating area was designed to provide a comfortable and inviting space, ideal for relaxation and outdoor gatherings. Lush gardens were implemented, bringing a touch of nature to the urban environment and offering a tranquil retreat. The parking area was carefully planned to be functional and discreet, ensuring that the historic charm of the residence remains intact.
The new swimming pool not only adds a leisure element to the property but also serves as a visual focal point that complements the beauty of the outdoor space. This outdoor environment was designed to be a true oasis, allowing residents to enjoy moments of relaxation and socialization, surrounded by natural beauty and history.
This rehabilitation project not only revitalized the residence but also respected its history, creating a space where the past and present meet harmoniously. The final result is a home that combines elegance, comfort, and a deep respect for cultural heritage, becoming a true testament to the rich history of Ajuda.
